Dana White 'super confident' on booking Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall UFC title fight

We're four months into 2025, and there's still nothing official on Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall.

Despite the wait, and to some lack of clarity, on the making of the highly anticipated UFC heavyweight title unification bout, UFC CEO Dana White remains very optimistic that the promotion will get the bout done for 2025. Speaking to reporters at Saturday's UFC on ESPN 66 post-fight press conference in Kansas City, Mo., White again assured that Jones vs. Aspinall is happening.

"I'm still super confident (it happens)," White said. "I've said it many times that that's the fight we want to make this year."

There's been complaints from Aspinall in recent weeks about the difficulties this booking is experiencing. There's also been reports suggesting that there are complications in the making of the fight. White poured cold water on the rumors.

"Everything you hear is bullsh*t until we say it," White said.

Jones vs. Aspinall is one of the biggest potential matchups in the history of the sport. Jones, who many consider the greatest MMA fighter of all time, currently holds the UFC heavyweight title and completed its first defense this past November, stopping Stipe Miocic. However, Jones reign has come with controversy, as Aspinall holds the UFC interim heavyweight belt, also has a title defense, and was not given the opportunity to unify the belt over the making of Jones vs. Miocic.

"I've said since Day 1 that this would be the biggest heavyweight fight in the history of the company and the history of the sport," White said. "This will be a big one."
