Boys tennis roundup: Minnewaska cruises past Montevideo, 6-1
Apr. 22—MONTEVIDEO — The Minnewaska boys tennis team won every point except at No. 1 singles to beat host Montevideo 6-1 on Tuesday.
Montevideo's Gabriel Lindeman beat Tenzin Dahl 7-6 (2), 6-1.
The Lakers' Xavier Johnson and Carson Beyer needed three sets to win at No. 2 doubles.
Otherwise, Minnewaska's Drew Bleick at No. 2, Carter LeClair at No. 3 and Aidric Vold at No. 4 all cruised to straight-set singles victories, as did the No. 1 doubles team of Riley Thorfinnson and Marshall Kopp and No. 3 doubles tandem of Taylor Kohn and Easton Palmer.
Litchfield's Lincoln Dille at No. 1, Mathias Bruning at No. 2 and Max Grabow at No. 3 swept their singles match in the Dragons' victory over Mound-Westonka at Litchfield.
All three Litchfield doubles teams also won in straight sets: Tommy Wittrock and Josh Blomberg at No. 1, Grayson Swenson and Matt Defries at No. 2 and Issac Elwell and Andy Wittrock at No. 3.
Benson swept the doubles and got wins at Nos. 1-3 singles for the victory over the Silverstreaks at Osakis.
Alex Carlson at No. 1, Andrea Beqaraj at No. 2 and Brandon Sondag at No. 3 all won for the Braves.
Lac qui Parle/Dawson-Boyd picked up wins at Nos. 2 and 4 singles and all three doubles tandems to beat Yellow Medicine East at Granite Falls.
LQPV/DB singles winners were Luke Stock at No. 2 and Thatcher Johnson at No. 4.
YME's Karter Canatsey at No. 1 and Talmage Hadfield at No. 3 won in singles.
