USC Aiken's Olin, Abrahamsson earn Peach Belt Conference golf honors

Apr. 17—Two senior members of the 11th-ranked USC Aiken golf team have been selected for the All-Peach Belt Conference teams ahead of this weekend's PBC Championship tournament.

Erik Olin has been picked for the first time, and Oscar Abrahamsson is a second-team selection.

Olin, a native of Falsterbo, Sweden, leads the Pacers with a 71.2 stroke average. He has competed in 10 events and has been at par or better 19 times. Olin's low round of the season is 66. He has five top-10 finishes, including three top-five efforts. The top-five finishes include a second-place effort at the Bobcat Invitational and third place at both the Bearcat Fall Invitational and the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate.

Abrahamsson, a native of Gothenburg, Sweden, is second on the squad with a 72.0 stroke average. He has a pair of first-place finishes this season, including a playoff win at the Palmetto Intercollegiate. Abrahamsson also tied for first at the Bearcat Spring Invitational. He's been at par or better 15 times and his season-low round of 64 is best on the team. Abrahamsson was named PBC Golfer of the Week on Feb. 10.

The Pacers open postseason play at the PBC Championship, which will take place Apr. 18-20.

The tournament is hosted by North Georgia and will be played at the Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta at the par-72, 7,086-yard course.

Head coach Michael Carlisle's team will consist of Abrahamsson, Karl Frisk, Nick Goellner, Mitchell McNeill and Olin.

Frisk has been at par or better 13 times this season and has a pair of top-10 finishes to his credit, including one top-five effort. Frisk's best round this season is a 69 and he has a 72.3 stroke average.

Goellner accounts for a 73.6 stroke average and has a low round of the year at 65. He has a top-five finish to his name and has been at par or better seven times.

McNeill, a North Augusta graduate, is just behind Goellner with a 73.7 stroke average. He has 10 rounds of par or better this season and has a top-10 finish. McNeill's best round on the year is 68.

Last year, North Georgia won the event at 18-under par. USCA was fifth at 2 over.
